Cake, cake, cake!

Well what can I say. I love cake and I see some very special ones. The grand, the simple, the lovingly made by Auntie, the querky, the striking, but all of them wonderful.

Difficult to choose, but here are some of my favourites from 2012.

Loved these cute elephants on Hannah & Richard’s cake at their wedding at South Farm, Cambridgeshire.

Louise and Gareth chose two cakes for their special day and both very different!  The one adorned with flowers was made by The Cake Fairy in Reading. www.thecakefairy.com and the very unusual Pork Pie cake was made by Wilsons butchers also in Reading. www.wilsonsbutchers.co.uk.

Cheese cakes make a great alternative. Seems to be popular with the gentlemen at weddings, some nice cheese and biscuits to round off the meal.
Let’s go Italian. The centrepiece of Vikki and Matt’s wedding breakfast at Westmill Farm, Hertfordhirse was a very traditional Italian cake dripping with chocolate and strawberries and I think a little hint of alcohol!

This stunning cake was made by We Want Cake, www.wewantcake.co.uk for Ruth & James back in May at Manor of Groves.

Simple but stunning and beautifully presented on a butchers block, this cake at Sarah & Jack’s wedding at Three Lakes, Westmill Farm, near Ware Hertfordshire tied in beautifully with the rustic, tree theme.
Wow! Dinosaurs ruled the day and this cake certainly made for an exciting centrepiece at Natalie & Gary’s wedding at Offley Place, Hertfordshire.

This sumptuous display was made by Mr Cake. www.mrcake.co.uk for Ali & Jeremy’s wedding at South Farm, Cambridgeshire. So much choice, they were all yummy!

Cupcakes were still very much in vogue this year from the vintage to football.

The bride herself made this amazing vintage collection for her wedding at Hedsor House in Surrey. Contact Laura at www.hundredsandthousands.co.uk for more details.

Nicola and Robin who were married at Tewin Bury Fram in Hertfordshire chose this beautiful fruit cake.
A family friend supplied this chocolate sensation for the wedding of Ruth & James in Hertfordshire. Please contact me for more details. www.parkwinphotography.co.uk.
Gorgeous details.

Simple and delicate.
A member of the family gave this cake as a gift to Catherine and Ben at their lovely country wedding in Dorset back in May. Very personal, very lovely.

Well those were some of my favourites. Have fun choosing your cake for your special day.
